Washington Budtender | Cannibal Sue

Name: Aurora! But everyone calls me Ro or Cannibal Sue

What state do you work in?: Washington! Woo Hoo PNW!

Name of Dispensary: Medigreen

How long have you been a Budtender? I've been in the industry for years now but I've been budtending at Medigreen for almost a year now.

Retail, Medical or Both? I prefer being involved in the Medical Industry. I've always passionate about helping people.

How did you get into the Industry? The We'ed Rather Group has been a HUGE part of my involvement in the industry. I've been blessed with knowing an awesome group of compassionate guys who want to do amazing things for our community. I'm a full-time student and was looking for a great job that would be flexible with my ever changing school schedule. Shib Rather was able to introduce me to the amazing Medigreen family!

What is your favorite aspect the being a Budtender? Like I said before I'm really passionate about helping people. I love knowing that I can help make a difference in the quality of life my patients have. Oh and let's get real.... samples anyone?

The funniest moment you have had at work? With a customer or job related. Well not to brag or anything but every day is epic with the people I work with. Seriously tho!! One day one of our regulars was in picking up some meds (we'll call him Mr. White for now). So Mr. White was his usual plucky and excitable self and immediately informed me that he's in a SUPER rush. So naturally I go about my job and try to assist him as best as possible. He told me he was interested in an eighth and would like to split it between two different strains. Okee Dokee. For Mr. White I could make that happen. Then he starts telling me.... “1.5, that's 2.1 right?” “1.5 and 1.5 that's 2.1!” Now to this day I still couldn't tell you what the heck Mr. White was trying to add together or how his math skills work in his head. But it was freaking hilarious! It took everything in me and the other patient in the room to keep it in and not laugh hysterically!

Most random question somebody has asked you about cannabis? Oooh!!! Hahaha. Okay.. There are plenty of options here. My favorite didn't actually happen to me, I just watched it all happen. But it definitely is a story worth repeating! So this patient was trying to pick out which edible she wanted and asked my co-worker why one is called a Brookie. He explained that its because it's part brownie and part cookie. She responded, “Wait.. you're telling me its a brownie and a cookie?” “Yes.” “So you call it a Brookie” “Yep.” “Part Brownie? Part Cookie?” “Yes Ma'am. A brownie cookie” So this went on for a few more minutes and our boss (The Cap'n) was standing behind the counter clearly getting frustrated by this dead end conversation going back and forth. Finally The Cap'n stepped in and tried to handle it...
Cap'n: “So, is there something I can help you with?” Patient: “Yes, why is this called a Brookie???”
you can imagine where the conversation went from there!

Favorite Strain and why: I have to pick one?!?!? That's a tough one, I'd say its a toss up between Chocolate Thai and Black Cherry Soda! Chocolate Thai is such a beautiful and tasty strain! It was definitely one of my absolute favorite highs I've felt. I also really love Black Cherry Soda - the flavor, the smoothness, the high! They were all fantastic. It also does wonders to help with body aches and pains.

Do you like edibles? If so, what is your favorite and why? I love them! My favorite would probably be RSO Chews by Sweet Treats. They are ridiculous! 190 mg THC. They taste great, have a high potency and can easily be broken up into multiple doses. I tend to use them when I'm in higher than average pain and at night to help my body relax enough to sleep.

Advice for others wanting to work in the Industry? I've noticed that trust is HUGE amongst the different crews. The biggest hurdle I faced in joining the Medigreen Family was showing them I am a trustworthy person deserving of being part of the team.

Do you have an Instagram? If so, what is your user name? YES! And Massroots! Both are @cannibalsue

Is there anything you would like to see improve in the industry? Oh absolutely. Let's see... Quality, Availability, Pricing, Legality..... There is definitely room for improvement in this still emerging market. #1 would be providing high quality medicine to patients in need. I know there are vendors out there that aren't providing the highest or cleanest quality medicine there is and that needs to change.

What are the best perks about your job? I don't know if you saw earlier.... but I might have mentioned samples! As well as working with some of my closest friends and helping people.

Do you use cannabis medically? Every day. I have a lot of neck, shoulder, and back pain. I couldn't sleep at night if I didn't have cannabis to ease my pain.

What is your favorite movie?
Oh I see how it is, pulling out the big guns huh? I really can't pick an ALL TIME favorite movie. But I definitely love When Harry Met Sally. Any time I see that movie on TV, I can't stop myself... I HAVE to watch it! Oh and Beach Party at the Threshold of Hell.... If you haven't seen it, you need to.. it also is part of the reason my nickname is Cannibal Sue!

What is your favorite hobby? Underwater Basket Weaving! Haha no, I'm a bookworm at heart. At any given time I'm in the midst of one or two books, I love it.

What is the #1 thing you are most grateful for? These amazing people I surround myself with. I wouldn't be where I am today with out my amazing family and friends.

Keep up with Cannibal Sue
